AFP-MO Praises Lawmakers for Passing Missouri REINS Act in the House
Americans for Prosperity Missouri (AFP-MO) praises Speaker Patterson, Speaker Designee Alex Riley, bill sponsors Ben Keathley and Cathy Jo Loy, and the more than 50 cosponsors who helped pass HB2559, the Missouri REINS Act, by a vote of 103-44.
The REINS Act will transfer final decision-making authority for costly regulations from unelected bureaucrats to elected representatives. Additionally, this legislation codifies Governor Kehoe’s EO from last session 25-13 prohibiting the issuance of new rules without prior approval from the Governor’s office.
Gary Hollis, AFP-MO State Director, released the following statement:
“We want to thank the Republicans in the Missouri State House for delivering for hard-working Missourians with this vote. Today’s vote is a victory for small business owners and everyday Missourians who want government bureaucracy and red tape out of their lives. We encourage the Missouri Senate to continue the work and bring this bill to a final vote.”
