ICYMI: AFP-Missouri Visits Washington, DC, Urging Lawmakers to Pass Trump Tax Cuts
JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Americans for Prosperity-Missouri leadership traveled to Capitol Hill this week as part of AFP’s ongoing Protect Prosperity campaign to advocate for President Trump’s tax cuts.
State Director Gary Hollis, Deputy State Director Duane Lester, and Legislative Director Camellia Peterson traveled to Washington and conducted meetings to urge Missouri lawmakers to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which saves the average Missouri family $2,105 in federal taxes per year and preserves 13,378 jobs throughout the state. AFP-MO also discussed passing the rescissions package from the White House to eliminate billions in wasteful spending.
AFP-MO State Director Gary Hollis released the following statement:
“Each year we travel to Washington, DC, to discuss the most pressing issues facing our communities. This week, I met with lawmakers and urged them to pass President Trump’s reconciliation package and make the TCJA tax cuts permanent to save Missourians more of their hard-earned money on their federal taxes.
“We must ensure Americans aren’t hit with the largest tax increase in history – we look forward to working alongside policymakers to see TCJA renewed.”
